Valencia and the Fallas
Spain Adventures
March 2010
In the month of March, one of the most spectacular festivals in the world takes place in Valencia, Spain - known as La Fallas. Intended as a tribute to St. Joseph, patron saint of the carpenters' guild, days and nights become a continuous running party and the streets are alive with fireworks displays, musical bands, artistic lighting, street performances, parades, and processions of Fallas. Each year, teams of local artists, designers, and architects slave away for months designing and constructing giant and elaborate structures of wood and papier-maché known as Fallas. The festival culminates with the midnight burning of the Fallas in the streets and squares around the city. This tour encompasses 7 days of non-stop photography, food, music, a bit of sleep, and lots of fun.

The 10 days trip finishes in Santiago and a drive through eucalyptus forests and ascent of the Monte de Gozo where, from the top of the mountain we see the city of Santiago de Compostela. The tour includes numerous mini-workshops and critiques based on the types of shooting we'll be doing.
